Q: what goes good with pork stew?
trying new recipe pork stew, it has pork loin, ketchup, pork gravey, potatoes, and green beans. Anything i should leave out or add? any good side dishes to compliment it that i might have around the kitchen?
A: Soak some diced dried apricot in a little hot water to rehydrate for about an hour, and add water and fruit.
Skip the ketchup and you will not need the gravy as you can make a gravy with the liquid in the pot.
That would be nice curried, with rice and vegetables, served over the top.

Savory Pork Stew
This dish is easy to make. You can add additional vegetables to your taste. It is high in fiber and protein as well as low in saturated fat. It's great to serve over rice as a one-dish meal.
Ingredients
1/2 lb. Lean pork tenderloin, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
1 Green onion stalk, finely chopped
2 Medium tomatoes, diced
2 Medium potatoes, cut into small cubes
1/2 cup 1% low-fat milk
1/2 cup Frozen (thawed) green peas, or fresh
2 tsp. Canola or olive oil
1 cup (8 oz.) fat free chicken broth
Marinade Sauce
2 tsp. Soy sauce
1/2 tsp. Rice wine
1/4 tsp. Salt
1/4 tsp. Pepper
2 tsp. Corn starch
Preparation
1. Combine pork cubes with marinade sauce, mix well and set aside.
2. Heat wok or large saucepan over medium-high heat until hot, but not smoking. Add 2 tsp. oil and chopped green onion. Stir fry about 30 seconds and then add pork cubes. Stir fry 1-2 minutes, until opaque throughout. Reserving the liquid in the saucepan, transfer the pork to a plate.
3. Stir in all remaining ingredients except green peas, adding in 1 cup of chicken broth and 1/2 cup milk. Bring the broth to a boil, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat to medium-low, and add 1 tsp. sugar and 1/4 tsp. salt. Cover and cook just until the potatoes are tender, stirring occasionally for 10-15 minutes.
4. Stir in green peas and return the pork to saucepan, stirring occasionally. Simmer for 3 minutes.
5. To serve, ladle pork stew into individual bowls or top over rice.
Makes 6 servings.
Cook's Notes
You can do the marinating of the pork one day in advance for added flavor. Milk was added to this dish to help increase the daily calcium intake.
Q: Pork belly stew- Chinese recipe?
My partner is coming home late tonight and has been working very late the last few months and has lost a lot of weight. He is Chinese, and loves pork belly roasted, but I would love to try some kind of Chinese style stew recipe. I thought it would be a nice dinner for him, especially as it could help him regain weight. (Our diets are pretty healthy normally, but his stress and lack of routine has caused his weightloss!) Any ideas guys? Much appreciated! Mel from London x

Q: What is the name of the filipino recipe of a stew with pork, peas, potatoes, and I think liversauce?
It's not paksiw, kalderta, apritada, or menudo. The stew is brown.
Definitely not dinuguan. Igado seems like it, but when I purchased at two separate Filipino stores, they both had nothing but the ingredients listed above. Any other suggestions?
A: prolly, estofado
Q: what is in jamaican pork stew from harrah's casino?
hi i went to harrah's and had their jamaican pork stew off of the buffet. does anyone have a recipe for it or know what is in it? it was wonderful!
A: Well guessing from the way Jamaicans cook, I would say start by washing the pork roast in lime or lemon juice.
Start a pot boiling, add the pork roast (it probably is leftover)whatever veggies you have such as potato, carrot not to much celery, tomato, yam or pumpkin, lots of garlic and onion, fresh thyme, soy sauce, and a hot pepper preferable a scotch bonnet or goat pepper, stock cube, a bit of vinegar , adobo seasoning, black pepper pimento seed ( not the red strips in the jar, a dry spice called pimento). Add coconut milk towards the end. The reason it is so good is the amount of seasoning they use, they are not afraid to open up the spice bottle and season.
They cook by taste not recipe. so taste as you go and keep adding seasoning til you have got the right taste for you.
If you are working with a scotch bonnet pepper and are not used to the heat... wash it devein it, swirl it around in the pot, you will get some of the hot, The peppers themselves have a wonderful flavor in cooking Caribbean foods, but to the palette that is not used to so much heat, can be overbearingly hot. so use sparingly and wisely. If you can find the tiny red bird pepper that would be a good sub also. you can devein and deseed the also, and should be able to just add it to the pot.
Q: i have left over chicken and pork.suggestions? recipes please.?
i have left over chicken and pork. does anybody have suggestions?recipes please.something warm like a stew.
A: My favorite for leftover chicken is chop suey. Just make some chicken gravy, add the diced chicken, and pour in a drained can of chop suey veggies. Serve over rice.
Leftover pork is good chopped, simmered with BBQ sauce, and served on buns.
The chicken would also be great in chicken a la king, chicken and dumplings, simmered in taco seasoning for tacos or enchiladas, or made like the pork above for sandwiches.
Q: recipe to go with stew meat?
i need a good recipe to go with stew meat more like pork stew meat something simple
A: try this one..
Stew Meat
got this recipe from my Mom. Now all my siblings and I use this recipe when we want something easy and delicious. The meat comes out melt-in-your-mouth tender cooked in its own gravy.
by Harried Mom
1 lb beef stew meat (already cut up)
1 (10 3/4 ounce) can French onion soup (undiluted)
1 (10 3/4 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup (undiluted)
Mix together french onion and cream of mushroom soups in a 2 1/2 qt casserole dish.
Add stew meat raw, making sure that all the meat is covered by the soup (it browns and cooks in the oven with the soups).
Cover and place in 350 degree oven for 3 hours.
Serve over steamed rice or noodles with a salad.
This recipe doubles or triples easily (just add one can of either soup per extra pound of meat).
I usually make extra and freeze it for another night

Q: What are the best recipes involving pork blood?
So today, spur of the moment, I purchased 10 or so ounces of pig's blood, because there's no way I could ever find something that exotic anywhere else, besides it was sort of neat. And it was really cheap.
Everyone I know is completely disgusted, but I actually seriously want to try it. I don't know quite what to do with it though.
Anyone ever try a recipe with pork's blood in it?
I know of black pudding (blood sausage), dinuguan (blood stew), blood "tofu", even blood cake and blood pancakes, but I've never tried them before.
All the comments of the internet I've heard were pretty positive, thinking it was pretty good (mostly for black pudding).
What do you recommend? What else can pork's blood be used in? Did you like any food items with pork's blood in it? Thanks.
A: DRISHEEN
2 parts blood (pig, turkey, goose)
1 part cream of full - cream milk
Handful of bread crumbs or oatmeal
Pepper
Pinch of mace
Sprig of tansy or thyme
Keep blood well salted to keep it liquid. Mix 2 parts with 1 part cream, mixed together with bread crumbs, pepper, mace and tansy. As tansy is a difficult herb to find today, thyme is often used. When made at home and sausage casing are not available the mixture is poured into bowls and either steamed or cooked in another pan of water in a moderate oven (300 degrees electric; gas regulo 3) for about 1 hour. It can be eaten warm or left to get cold. Then it is sliced and either fried or grilled, for breakfast or supper, often with bacon, eggs, and sausages.
Q: anyone have a simple recipe for sweet and sour pork or mexican cheese enchaladas?
I used to have a recipe for a sweet and sour pork that used stewing pork cubes and the sauce was made from apricot preserves and I think vinegar but I cant remember this exactly so I was wondering if anyone had this or something similar. Also a quick and easy recipe for cheese enchaladas or any other mexican recipes that are simple to make
A: the easiest way is to buy an enchilada sauce at your local store and dip around 10 to 12 corn tortillas in hot oil for about 3 seconds so it softens up, then use your favorite cheese ( i use American cheese, and a package of Kraft Mexican shredded cheese ) then i brown some ground beef spice it the way i like it, or boil a chicken and shred it and roll up which ever with cheese in your corn tortillas, then i pour on the sauce and bake for about 20 minutes in a 350 oven and i eat with rice and beans!!

Easy and Saucy Crock Pot Pork Chops - Healthier Version!
by LifeIsGood
4 pork loin chops with bone (I get fairly thick chops so they don't dry out in the crock pot)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 tablespoons vegetable oil (I like to use either canola or olive oil)
2 cups no-sugar-added ketchup (low carb)
1/2 cup packed splenda brown sugar substitute
1 teaspoon hickory-flavored liquid smoke (don't omit this!)
Sprinkle pork chops with garlic powder, salt and pepper.
In a large skillet, brown the pork chops in oil on both sides.
In a bowl, combine the ketchup, brown sugar and liquid smoke.
Pour half of the sauce into the bottom of a slow cooker.
Top with pork chops and remaining sauce.
Cover and cook on low for 4-1/4 to 5 hours or until meat is tender.
